I made quite a number of applications to the Australia Council for Writer's Grants over the years.
None were successful. 
This one, too, was unsuccessful. 
And this time around I was even friends with the head of the Literature Board, who encouraged me to make this application. 
There was a certain sneering contempt in the Australia Council for those who actually made a living out of writing in what were considered lower forms of literary endeavour, such as journalism.

My Name Is Blah Blah.
The original manuscript ran to several hundred pages and was largely eaten by mice.
It exists only in these fragments.
