Richard Glover, who went on to have a successful broadcasting career, was Sunday Chief of Staff.
In a city of barely two million people, there was nothing going on, and he was desperate for news, any news.
A car alarm had gone off in the middle of the night near his house.
And hence he came up with this story, drummed up out of nowhere.
