THE family of Dianne Brimble have accused the South Australian and NSW police of concealing evidence, on the eve of theresumption of the inquest into her death aboard a P&O cruise in 2002.
A statement issued by the family yesterday claimed the NSW and South Australian police commissioners were subpoenaed by thecoroner's office to produce documentation into the 42-year-old's death on board a cruise ship.
"Both police commissioners have objected strongly to the production of documents under these subpoenas, apparently on the basis of a public interest immunity claim," the statement said.
"There has been several secret in-camera hearings conducted before the coroner. Neither the family nor their legal representatives were permitted access to these secret hearings, which have been going on since at least July."
However, both police commissioners said yesterday that all court orders had been complied with.
The Brimble inquest, which began in March, resumes today before Deputy State Coroner Jacqueline Milledge.
